How do cost, insurance and financing fit together?

The cost of dental work is three questions: the treatment price, what your insurance covers, and how you pay the rest. This page answers all three.

Valley View Dental is in network with most major PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans. In-network vs out-of-network changes your out of pocket cost. Financing and payment plans cover the balance.

Some prices here are published, and others are quoted.

What does Valley View publish a price for, and what needs a quote?

Valley View Dental publishes a monthly figure for two treatments and quotes every other price at a consultation. A single tooth implant starts from $99 per month. Invisalign starts from $132 per month. Both are estimates on approved credit through Cherry.

Prices we publish

Single tooth implant
from $99/mo

Invisalign
from $132/mo

Prices we quote at your consultation

There is no published cash price for an exam, a crown, a full implant, full Invisalign, dentures or veneers. Those get a custom quote at a free consult.

Saying that out loud is the point. You should know which numbers exist before you sit down, not after.

Your out of pocket cost still depends on your own plan. What your insurance covers changes the number you actually pay.

Does your insurance cover it, and is Valley View in network?

Valley View Dental is in network with most major PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans. A PPO plan pays part of the bill and leaves the rest to you.

Valley View Dental does not accept HMO or Medicaid plans.

Most major PPO plans

In network means your plan's agreed rate applies, so your share of the bill is lower.

What your plan may not cover

Every plan sets its own limits. Your share depends on the plan and the treatment, so check your own benefits.

In-network vs out-of-network is the difference that moves your bill most. In network, your plan’s agreed rate applies. Out of network, you may owe more out of pocket.

What if you do not have dental insurance?

Patients without dental insurance have three routes at Valley View Dental: a senior discount, an in-house payment plan, and third-party financing. Ask which one fits your treatment before you rule anything out.

The live commitment is short and it is on the record. Valley View Dental offers a senior discount for patients without insurance.

Senior discount

Available to patients without insurance.

In-house payment plan

Available to qualified patients.

Third-party financing

Cherry, CareCredit and Lending Club.

Cards and Apple Pay

Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay, cash and personal checks.

If you are self-pay, third-party financing is the third route. Cherry, CareCredit and Lending Club all serve uninsured patients here.

How can you spread the cost over monthly payments?

A Cherry payment plan splits your treatment cost into monthly payments, and a single tooth implant starts from $99 a month on approved credit. Invisalign starts from $132 a month on approved credit.

Read $99 a month as the single tooth implant figure. It is not the figure for all care.

What should you ask before you sign a dental payment plan?

The American Dental Association publishes guidance for patients weighing a dental financing plan, on its MouthHealthy consumer site. Work out what you can pay each month before you sign. Ask four things: how long the interest-free period runs, what happens if you miss it, what the exact monthly payment is, and what the APR is.

The live Cherry page states there is no hard credit check to apply. Confirm your own position with the lender.

On a low-interest plan the position differs. The American Dental Association notes that interest starts building from the original purchase date.

Cherry and CareCredit each set their own terms and their own credit rules. Ask the lender directly, and ask for the APR in writing.

Which guide answers the cost question for your treatment?

The cost of your treatment depends on which treatment you need. Each guide below covers one treatment’s cost, what insurance covers, and how people pay for it.

Dental implants, Invisalign, veneers, dentures and crowns each carry a different number. Pick the one you are weighing.

Cost, insurance and financing questions people ask

The clinician who reviewed these answers is named below.

Valley View Dental offers in-house payment plans to qualified patients, plus third-party financing. So yes, you can pay in installments here.

You can pay monthly for dental work at Valley View Dental. A single tooth implant starts from $99 a month and Invisalign from $132 a month, both on approved credit.

Valley View Dental offers a senior discount for patients without insurance, in-house payment plans, and third-party financing. Ask about all three before you decide you cannot afford treatment.

Each lender sets its own credit score rules, so there is no single number to quote. The live Cherry page states there is no hard credit check to apply.

CareCredit sets and publishes its own approval criteria. Check them with CareCredit directly rather than relying on a dentist’s summary of another company’s rules.

Cherry, CareCredit and Lending Club all let you get dental work now and pay later. Payments run monthly in instalments once your plan is approved.

It depends on your premium, your plan’s annual limit, and how much work you need. A plan tends to help more when you need more than routine care. Compare your own numbers rather than a general rule.

Most dental plans pay a share of each treatment and leave the rest to you. The share differs by plan and by treatment, so check your own plan documents. Valley View Dental is in network with most major PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans, which lowers your share.
